  • Leaching of toxic organic compounds from microplastics:
    • Antiozonants from tire wear particles in stormwater
    • Plasticizers, UV filters, dyes
  • Contaminants in urban stormwater runoff:
    • Roofing and paint additives
    • Asphalt and tire leachate
    • Urban-use biocides
  • Fate in nature-based treatment systems and surface waters:
    • Photochemical transformations
    • Biodegradation in soil environments
  • Fate in constructed wetlands
